Mukashi is an English reading service for children and their families. We collect as little as possible, and we treat what we do collect with care. We operate from Japan, and because families outside Japan can use Mukashi, we follow Japan's Act on the Protection of Personal Information, the EU GDPR, and the US Children's Online Privacy Protection Act.
We never use any of it for advertising.
There is no advertising in Mukashi. There is no ad tracking. We never sell data to anyone. We do not run behavioural analytics.
Mukashi has no social features and no user-generated content. A child cannot publish anything.
A child's activity is visible to the parent who manages the account. Where a school uses Mukashi, their class teacher can see it too: progress, the words they have found, and the notes that teacher writes.
We collect information about children under 13 on the basis of a parent's consent. That consent is given at signup, where the parent confirms they are the child's parent or guardian and agrees to these documents, and we keep a record of it. Consent can be withdrawn at any time, and we will delete the child's information when it is.
When a school uses Mukashi, the school decides what happens to its pupils' information and we handle it on the school's instructions. For schools where GDPR applies, we will enter into a data processing agreement. Write to hello@mukashi.world.

Where information leaves Japan, our contracts with these companies carry the safeguards required to protect it.
Reading records are kept for 24 months after you last use Mukashi, so a returning family finds them waiting and a child can carry on where they left off. We count from whichever is latest: the end of your subscription, your last sign-in, or the moment you ask us to keep them below.
We always warn you before deleting anything. We write to your registered email 30 days, 14 days, 7 days, 3 days and 1 day before the date. One tap on the button in that letter keeps the records for another 24 months. No password, no subscription, nothing to buy. If you do nothing, we delete them on the date we told you.
If you ask us to delete your information, we act within 30 days. Newsletter details are kept until you unsubscribe.

The website stores only functional preferences in your browser, such as your language choice and whether you have seen the opening video. No advertising cookies.

Mukashi（以下「当サービス」）は、お子さまとそのご家族のための英語学習サービスです。お預かりする情報は必要最小限にとどめ、大切に扱います。当サービスは日本から運営していますが、日本国外にお住まいの方にもご利用いただけるため、日本の個人情報保護法に加えて、欧州のGDPRおよび米国のCOPPAに沿った取り扱いを行います。
広告目的で情報を利用することはありません。
当サービスに広告はありません。広告目的のトラッキングも行いません。第三者へのデータ販売は一切行いません。行動分析のためのアクセス解析ツールも導入していません。
当サービスにはソーシャル機能がなく、お子さまが情報を公開する仕組みはありません。ユーザー投稿コンテンツもありません。
お子さまの学習の様子をご覧になれるのは、アカウントを管理する保護者の方です。学校でご利用の場合は、そのクラスの先生もご覧になれます（進捗、見つけた単語、先生ご自身が残したメモ）。
13歳未満のお子さまの情報は、保護者の方の同意にもとづいてお預かりします。ご登録の際に、利用規約と本ポリシーへの同意をいただき、その記録を保管しています。ご同意はいつでも撤回でき、その場合はお子さまの情報を削除します。
学校が当サービスを導入される場合、児童・生徒の情報について決定権を持つのは学校であり、当サービスはその委託先として情報を取り扱います。GDPRが適用される地域の学校には、別途データ処理契約を締結いたします。お問い合わせは hello@mukashi.world までお願いします。
当サービスのデータベースとアプリケーションサーバーは日本国内（東京）にあります。以下の委託先が、それぞれの役割の範囲で情報を取り扱います。
日本国外への提供にあたっては、各社との契約にもとづき適切な保護措置を講じています。
読書の記録は、最後にご利用いただいた時点から24か月保管します。またお戻りになったときに、お子さまが続きから読めるようにするためです。ご契約の終了、最後のログイン、または下記の保管のお手続きのうち、いちばん新しい日から数えます。
削除の前に、必ずお知らせします。削除予定日の30日前、14日前、7日前、3日前、前日に、ご登録のメールアドレスへご連絡します。そのメールのボタンを一度押していただくだけで、さらに24か月保管します。ログインもご契約も必要ありません。何もなさらない場合は、予定どおり削除します。
削除のご依頼をいただいた場合は、30日以内に対応します。ニュースレターの登録情報は、配信停止までお預かりします。
ご自身とお子さまの情報について、次のことをご請求いただけます。

当サイトが保存するのは、表示言語やオープニング動画の視聴有無といった、機能上必要な設定のみです。広告用のCookieは使用していません。
